John L. Stauffer
U.S. Army (Retired)
About Me
John Stauffer is a retired manager from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, where he led the Michigan Veterans Resource Service Center and helped countless veterans and families navigate the path from military to civilian life. A proud U.S. Army veteran, John’s dedication to service has shaped every chapter of his career.
Since retiring, he’s continued that mission in the classroom as a substitute teacher in Lansing and surrounding communities, focusing much of his time on supporting children on the autism spectrum. Drawing on his earlier leadership with LAP Respite Services, John brings patience, empathy, and humor to his teaching — helping each student feel seen and valued.
Beyond his professional life, John treasures time with his wife of 44 years and their growing family, finding joy in travel, laughter, and the memories they create together. His life’s work reflects a simple truth: service, in all its forms, is the most lasting legacy.
